🎯 Understanding the Range Configuration:
- Stretch Range (Orange 🚀): Colleges with cutoffs better than your rank - aspirational options with lower admission chances
- Safe Range (Green 🛡️): Colleges with cutoffs worse than your rank - safer options with higher admission chances
- Balanced Approach: Use default settings (1000 better, 3000 worse) for a good mix
- Conservative Approach: Decrease stretch range, increase safe range
- Aggressive Approach: Increase stretch range, decrease safe range
🔢 Understanding Rank Numbers:
- Lower rank numbers (e.g., Rank 100): Better performance, harder to achieve
- Higher rank numbers (e.g., Rank 1000): Relatively lower performance, easier to achieve
- Example: If your rank is 5000:
- Stretch range of 1000 = colleges with cutoffs 4000-5000 (better/harder)
- Safe range of 3000 = colleges with cutoffs 5000-8000 (worse/easier)
